Turbulence Blamed For Flying School Plane Incident Landing At Vunisea

A Pacific Flying School Cessna aircraft suffered nose wheel damage and veered off the runway while landing at Vunisea Airport in Kadavu on Friday.

The Pacific Flying School is a subsidiary of Joyce Aviation (Fiji) Ltd. The owner and director, Tim Joyce, said the flight instructor and two student pilots were in the aircraft when the incident happened.

Mr Joyce added that the incident which happened at around 11am was caused by turbulence.

“I know it was quite windy down there. They did about five circuits and they veered off the runaway at the end,” he said.

He added there was no injury and there were damages to the aircraft. Once it is fixed, it will be brought back to their hangar in Nadi.
