World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year Seremaia Tuwai’s newly formed club Barbarian Brothers is designed to identify hidden talents.

He revealed this during the club’s official launch at the Holiday Inn, in Suva yesterday.

Now they are ready to make their debut at the 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament which gets underway on Thursday.

Speaking to SUNports, Tuwai says the team member are young talented players who don’t have a club to play in.

“I want to help these players and the young boys out there with amazing sevens talents but don’t have a team to play in,” he said. “All they need is an opportunity to show their skills and potential. “This team is made up of young players from around Fiji.”

Tuwai said the Marist 7s tournament was launched last month, he thought of a lot of players who had the talent but not the opportunity to showcase it.

“It all about giving back to the sports especially to young people who will be the next to represent Fiji. And at the time they can help take care of their families but most importantly to continue making Fiji proud.”

Tuwai said the the vision of this club is to help identify and bring out these hidden talents.

“This club is open for anyone to join so if you’re out there and you want to play come and train with us so you can play.

“I was in camp and noticed that all the boys were going back to their clubs and there were a few boys in camp that don’t have a club to play in. That is where the Babarian Brothers was born.”

The players go into camp tomorrow.

Joining them are fellow Olympian Vatemo Ravouvou, Kitione Salawa, Jiuta Wainiqolo, Anasa Qaranivalu, Taniela Sadrugu and Kaminieli Rasaku and Pio Tuwai.

The Barbarians are in Pool 10 with defending champions Police Blue, Yamacia and Naviavia Gladiators.
