COVID-19: Two Remain In Isolation, Says Dr Fong

As of yesterday, there are only two active cases of COVID-19 in the country and they are under strict isolation.

This was confirmed by the Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong.

He said the patients were in stable condition and recovering well.

Dr Fong reiterated that the Ministry’s border quarantine and infection prevention control protocols were as strict as they came and as long as it was followed, there was no risk for a community transmission.

He added that the ministry was constantly reviewing and strengthening personal protection measures wherever there was an opportunity.

He said: “Some risk will always remain due to the aggressively contagious nature of the virus. That is why we must always remain vigilant.”
