The Rewa football coach, Marika Rodu, is still working hard towards winning the Vodafone Premiere league.

Despite losing to Labasa on Sunday, Rodu is confident that his side will be the 2020 champs.

He meant his words when he indicated that Labasa would be a threat, despite their performance.

However, the Delta Tigers remains on top of the table with 23 points one point ahead of neighbors Suva.

“I did mean my word when I said that, I can smell from my experience,” he said.

“I would like to congratulate them for the good work, but for us, it is a bit of good reflection and just to know that we want to maintain our position in this competition.

“For Labasa, this was a good game for them to reclaim their status in football here in Fiji after their poor performance so far.

“We came with a good plan but we took two goals from the set piece which is one of our biggest weapon that we will be polishing on going forward.”

“ The plan now is to see that we stay consistant for the remaining VPL games.”
