The Leo Naikasau-captained Tabadamu are the winners of the 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament. This is their fifth Marist 7s title.

They defeated defending champions  Police White, 22 – 19.

Masi Baleiwairiki scored a hat-trick to secure the win.

They were good in defence denying Police the chance to steal the win at the death.

Coach/trainer Jale Melovatu said that Marist 7s title belongs to them.

Despite losing players like Terio Tamani and Josefa Talacolo to Police White, they were confident.

“We would like to thank God for this win because He has been our source of strength,” he said.

“We were champs for four years and we looked forward to this moment, to claim our fifth title.

“And this win is dedicated to the late Leo Naikasau Snr, our manager who passed away during the Nawaka 7s.

“He has contributed so much to this team, so this win was for him.

“We have a good side and promising players because we defeated Police White which was dominated by national reps.”
