The Suva High Court has given both the prosecution and defence time to finalise their pre-trial conference in the case of a Naitasiri farmer who is facing a murder charge.

Luke Nasetava, 34, appeared before Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge yesterday, charged with one count of murder.

It is alleged that Nasetava on August 31, 2019, at Walu Bay in Suva, murdered his wife, Amelia Mafi.

Defence lawyer, Filimoni Vosarogo, told the court that he was working with the prosecutor on the proposed agreed facts and had also informed the prosecutor of the facts that were agreed to and disagreed to.

State prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Zenith Zunaid, has sought time to finalise the pre-trial conference issues.

The matter will be called again on October 15 for mention.

Nasetava has been further remanded in custody.
