Ministry Braces For More COVID Cases

Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong said the ministry is expecting to record some new COVID-19 cases with repatriation flights coming from high risk countries
This includes a confirmed repatriation flight for Fijian citizens from India on October 9.
Those who left for medical treatment last year and early this year will be on that flight.
Dr Fong said currently there are only two remaining border quarantine COVID-19 cases that are in isolation and both were in stable condition at the Lautoka Hospital.
He reiterated that the Ministry’s border quarantine and infection prevention control protocols are as strict as they come and as long as it is followed, there is no risk for a community transmission.
