The newly-appointed acting principal for Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS), Naisa Toko, has confirmed that he will sign his term contract for his new role on Monday, October 5, 2020.

Mr Toko is a former RKS dux and had previously served as Principal at Lomaivuna Secondary, Ra High School and John Wesley College.

Mr Toko did not wish to comment further on this.

Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar said the appointment was made through an expression of interest.

Mr Toko will be reporting to RKS on Monday.

“The Ministry wishes the acting head of school well for the remainder of the 2020 academic year,” Ms Akbar said.

Meanwhile, the former principal, Arvind Prasad, requested for a transfer after a series of protests at the Lodoni school. His request was approved.

The incident also resulted in the suspension of several senior students and prefects.

All suspended students resumed classes this week.
