Provincial rugby competition went down to the wire as teams battled to stay in the race.

Farebrother Sullivan Trophy champion Namosi made easy picking as they demolished Yasawa 21-3 in the wet in round 11 of the Skipper Cup Premiership competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

The Asaeli Boko-coached side maintained their status as the team to beat. But with two more challenges to go against Nadi and Suva, the team from Nabukebuke should leave their best for last and can’t afford to let their guard down.

Nadi outplayed Lautoka 37-9 and should be firing in all cylinders when the challenged for the coveted silverware on October 10.

The jetsetters needed the win to be in the top five of the Premiership and with three rounds to go, they could make the semifinals if they maintained form.

Lautoka on the other hand must rediscover their form when they face Namosi as another slip could see the Maroons in trouble with Tailevu battling Yasawa and a win could elevate them to the top six.

Naitasiri came off a better team in the heavy surface at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori finishing strongly against Nadroga winning 13-6.

Results: Suva 27-25 Tailevu. Namosi 21-3 Yasawa, Naitasiri 13-6 Nadroga, Nadi 37-9 Lautoka.

Round 12 Fixtures: Naitasiri-Suva, Nadroga-Nadi, Lautoka-Namosi, Yasawa-Tailevu.
