Digital, Body & Health Detox

Imagine going somewhere for a weekend without internet access, to a destination where tea bags, coffee, milk, butter, jam and sugar are forbidden.

The Namosi Eco Resort offers just that – digital and food detox.

Located in the interior of Viti Levu, guests have no choice but to unplug from electronics and manufactured food items.

Getting there is not for the faint of heart, as travellers must trek over hilly terrain and streams.

Vegetarian

Resort owner Danny Jason said: “All our meals are mainly vegetarian except for a one-night dinner lovo chicken.

“We only employ the ladies from the nearby village to cook for our guests.

“We only use our local produce for all our meals.”

Mr Jason said the Namosi Eco Retreat hosted the University of the South Pacific School of Tourism and Hospitality Management for four days.

“It was a unique tourism experience for the group,” he said.

“They did really well.

“Even though it was a first-time experience, it did not stop their high-flying spirits as they got involved with all activities, and had a taste of the local authentic mountain cuisine prepared by the ladies.”

He said the group also learned about the struggles of a unique tourism adventure in a very isolated area.
