Holding the country’s prestigious rugby title has brought together the people of Namosi.

The Namosi rugby team took the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy to a thanksgiving church service at the Holy Spirit Parish in Navua, yesterday.

Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua said, they wanted to thank God for the win.

“We want to give the glory and honour back to him,” Ratu Suliano said.

“If it wasn’t for the Lord, we wouldn’t have been where we are today.”

Ratu Suliano said, without the support and prayers from the people of Namosi, the rugby team wouldn’t have made it this far.

Namosi successfully defended the Farebrother- Sullivan Trophy with a 21-3 win over Yasawa last Saturday.

“The win is a blessing for the people of Namosi. The win was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the team members.”

Ratu Suliano said they were blessed to have the team during the church service.

He said they were now preparing well for the upcoming challenge against Nadi next week.

Ratu Suliano also hosted a Sunday lunch for the team at his residence at Veivatuloa Village.
