Nasinu striker Marlon Tahioa saw the gap after a defensive blunder by the central Suva defenders and made no mistake by placing the ball to the back of the net.

“Our midfielders had been targeting the Suva central defenders. Once the midfielders broke through, I saw the gap and jumped on to it,” the Solomon Islander said of the goal that upset Suva 1-0.

The Tagi Vonolagi-coached side had been targeting their former centre-back Manasa Levaci, who was playing for Suva, and it paid dividends in the 36th minute.

Suva’s goalkeeper, Beniamino Mateinaqara, stops a goal attempt from Marlon Tahioa of Nasinu during their 2020 Courts IDC pool game at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on October 6, 2020. Nasinu won 1-0.
