Two Allegedly Found With Illicit Drugs Get Bail

Two men who were allegedly found with white substances confirmed to be methamphetamine have been granted bail by the Magistrates Court in Suva yesterday.
Accused persons Ritesh Kumar, 50, and Simione Serukalou, 26, appeared before Magistrate Jeremiah Savou.
Kumar is charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs while Serukalou is charged with one count of obstruction.
The alleged offence took place on October 1, at Rifle Range in Vatuwaqa, Suva whereby Kumar was found with 1.2 grams of methamphetamine.
Serukalou is alleged to have wilfully and unlawfully obstructed a Police Constable while in due execution of his duties.
Magistrate Savou ordered both the accused persons to sign a bail bond of $500 each.
They were ordered to reside at their fixed residential addresses and not to change their addresses without the leave of the court.
The two accused persons were also ordered not to reoffend and not to interfere with the prosecution witnesses.
The matter will be called for plea on November 18.
