Police raided two homes in the Western Division in their hunt for hard drugs manufacturers. One was raided in Nadi. The other in Lautoka. The raids took place in a span of 10 days.

Police have revved up operations as ingredients used to create the hard drugs methamphetamine are readily available in our pharmacies, hardware stores and retailers.

As Police investigations continue, two raids possibly point to the local manufacturing of illicit drugs.

The two raids within 10 days also point to increased Police concern.

The last big hard drug bust was in 2004.

Police raided a meth factory in Laucala Beach, Suva, and seized enough chemicals to make $540 million worth of the drug.

Meth is a synthetic drug. All ingredients are chemical substances.

But a polydrug user (he smokes, inhales and injects himself with all kinds of drugs) insists that methamphetamine cooked in Fiji is an urban myth.

He claims some deportees play a big role in escalating the use of hard drugs in Fiji.  They use their overseas connections to get drugs into the country.…….to read the full story, subscribe to the Fiji Sun E-Edition.
