Rauluni Sisters Shine

Tagimoucia were crowned the champions of the 2020 Suva Netball Association Super League on Saturday evening.
They defeated defending champions, Lomaiviti, 54 – 50 in the final at the National Netball Centre.
Tagimoucia first won the Super League grade in 2018.
It was a tough battle between the two teams as they battled until the final whistle.
Tagimoucia had Fijian Pearls goal shooter, Unaisi Rauluni, who was brilliant in her long range shots and was a star for her side.
The ace shooter scored the most goals in the final.
Her sister, Asenaca Rauluni, was the goal shooter for the first half, before she was substituted, when they led 29 – 23.
She came back in the last quarter to assist her sister claim the win.
This was the first year for the Rauluni sisters to play for the Suva Netball Association since Nasinu Netball had started their season late.
They are the daughters of the late national rugby 7s star forward Vesito Rauluni.
Lomaiviti, laced with national reps like Matila Vocea, who made sure to make every centre pass count, however, missed most of her shots.
Their attacks failed to feed the shooters most times as Tagimoucia defenders were tight.
Tagimoucia captain, Anatolia Bolakoro said: “First of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for this win, without Him we would not have been able to win.
“I also want to thank the girls, for their team bonding and for always being together despite all the difficulties we faced throughout this journey.
“As defending champs, Lomaiviti was undefeated throughout but what we did today. I am so proud of us, a young team who beat them.
“Not forgetting to thank our supporters, the Vatoa family for helping in training and other team members and everyone that supported us.”
