Woman, 38, Allegedly Presented Dishonoured Cheque, Remanded

The Magistrates Court in Nasinu will today decide whether a 38-year-old woman who is alleged to have produced a dishonoured cheque worth $89,250 will be released on bail or not.
Anjila Devi, was charged with one count of obtaining financial advantage by deception and was produced before Magistrate Charles Ratakele yesterday.
She was represented by the Legal Aid Commission and was remanded after Police prosecution requested her to file a formal bail application.
It is alleged that between October 2 and 4 this year, Devi deceptively obtained vehicle parts from Hybrid Auto Centre Private Limited in Nasinu after presenting a fake Westpac cheque with number 856889 amounting to $89,250.
A second person who was questioned by Police in relation to the same case has since been released.
