The Eastern State Blues are focused on finishing their sets in today’s Fiji National Rugby League Vanua State of Origin Two clash at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

The Blues are out to claim the Series after their 10-8 win over Western State Maroons in their first clash at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

They are now targeting to extend their lead to 2-0 with the final clash to be a formality.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Blues head coach, Vulaono Dakuitoga said it is important to finish their game plan.

“We are well-prepared for this game and we know how tough it will be against the Maroons,” he said.

“The focus now is trying to finish our sets in both attack and defence. These are the key areas that we were working on during training this week.

“In our last game we found some areas that we needed to work on and the boys have really stood up in ironing up those areas.”

The no-nonsense coach said there was no room for mistakes when they take on the Maroons.

“We will have to raise the tempo right from the kickoff.

“Even though we have a few injuries we have made three changes to accommodate this.

“We need to focus on our game plans and make sure that we execute and finish off the game.

“The message is simple, we need go in and finish the job assigned to each player’s in each position.”

Dakuitoga reiterated the Blues want to finish off the series today.

“Our aim is to finish off the series here in Nadi but it won’t be an easy game,” he said.

“The Maroons will have the home crowd advantage with them so we know they will come hard on us.

“They will come out firing but it’s another game of rugby league that we are ready for.”

Meanwhile, the Maroons have opted to keep a low profile and are hopeful of a win to keep their chances of winning the series alive.
