The Fiji Corrections Service will be celebrating its 146th anniversary at Naboro today.

At the event, President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote, will be awarding medals to 70 current and former corrections officers.

They will also announce the winner of the Corrections skills competition which took place yesterday.

A total of 19 teams competed this year from the 15 Corrections Centres around Fiji, including defending champions from the National Headquarters and the Emergency Control Unit.

The rigorous course covers 5km through 19 obstacles over heavy, wet hilly terrain.

The purpose of the competition is to instil team work, camaraderie, renew bonds of friendships between corrections personnel and most of all it is to celebrate the spirit of health and wellness among all FCS personnel. This is the third year of the competition.
