Working with youths to achieve their goals in life is important, says the Assistant Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Alvick Maharaj.

Mr Maharaj made the comment as he encouraged 33 youth participants, who graduated from the health and well-being empowerment training programme at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hall in Lami on Friday.

Assistant youth officer Salote Talikai said the training programme was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports where certain practical modules were put in place for their training.

Mr Maharaj, who was chief guest at the graduation, highlighted various ways of helping youths to achieve their goal in life.

“The actual reason for us being here is because it is difficult for the youths these days to achieve their goals,” Mr Maharaj said.

“Telling youths to have a goal and work towards it, is an easy part but working with them to actually help achieve their goal is important.”

With these training certificate, Mr Maharaj told youths that they would be able to further their education and get a decent job.
