Let’s Go Local: If You’re Thriller Seeker, Try Out the Sigatoka River Safari
Sigatoka River Safari has partnered with the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa to package up a weekend stay with a thrilling River Jets Fiji experience to make the weekend stay on the Coral Coast that more memorable.

If you’re a thrill-seeker and haven’t tried out the Sigatoka River Safari, then this is your chance to just do it.

The local package option managing director Jay Whyte and his team have put together are attractive.

Like all tourism businesses, the impact of Covid-19 has been severe for the Sigatoka town based company. “Since mid-March, we basically went into a hibernation – and for all intents and purposes this continues, with the only activity being our Saturday River Jets experiences.”

But things are already looking positive.

Mr Whyte said they’ve received inquiries from local groups looking at end of year getaways and team building activities. “We are more than happy to welcome and provide unique experiences combining our Sigatoka River Safari, Off Road Cave Safari, Waterblob Fiji or River Jets Fiji adventures.”

He said this was a great opportunity to experience a world-class jetboat ride on the lower Sigatoka River and discover what makes the River Jets Fiji experience so ‘thrilling’. A 30-minute thrill-ride last Saturday proved just that.

If you’re faint-heartened, try it anyway. You will survive, even though it looks ‘fast and furious’ from the banks of the Sigatoka river. Stories about the Sigatoka river, and its nearby villages also serve as a history lesson for riders. Partnership Shangri-La’s Fijian Sigatoka River Safari has partnered with the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa to package up a weekend stay with a thrilling River Jets Fiji experience to make the weekend stay on the Coral Coast that more memorable.

“As we are only a short 10-minute drive away from the resort, conveniently situated at Sigatoka Town’s Tappoo Store, boarding our River Jets vessel below the Old Sigatoka bridge, the experience is accessible to all, no matter your age,” Mr Whyte said. “This is really the ideal time for our friends around Fiji to combine a weekend getaway or activity for the day by booking now to secure your seats and experience the most fun you can have sitting down! “All guests are welcome and we can advise that we welcome guests of all ages, from 1 to 100,” he said.
