Suva ‘Young Guns’ To Face Namosi

Young players in the Ram Sami Suva extended squad will play Namosi in the last round of the 2020 Skipper Cup Premiership.
The outcome of the match would be immaterial as it would not change the capital side lead on the points’ standings (48).
Team manager Nemani Tuifagalele said they would give the chance to the young players as most senior players are likely to play for their respective clubs for the Digicel Escott Shield semifinals in the Suva Rugby Union club competitions..
Navy, Police, Queen Victoria School (QVSOB) and Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKSSOB) have qualified for the Escott semis.
“We’re on track for the Skipper Cup defence,” Tuifagalele said.
“We are way up on the points table and playing against Namosi will not change our position, whatever the outcome.
“Most of the players will be playing for their clubs on Saturday and this is the opportunity for young players to get game time at provincial level.”
Suva players playing for Navy are Jone Manu, Leone Nawai, Apisalome Vota, Elia Canakaivata, Sorovakatini Tuifagalele, Vesi Rarawa while Police have Lino Vasuinadi, Keponi Paula and James Brown. Penaia Cakobau and Setareki Raoba play for QVSOB.
Suva, Naitasiri, Nadroga and Namosi will play in the semifinals next week.
Suva will play the fourth placed team and this will be finalised after the competition on Saturday.
The three teams are likely to consolidate their position with Naitasiri playing winless Yasawa at Churchill Park, Nadroga hosting Lautoka at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
As it stands, Suva will play Namosi with Naitasiri hosting Nadroga.
