A Fiji-China singing competition was held at the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific on Wednesday.
This was to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The competition attracted 18 contestants who were students from the Chinese credit class and social class of the Confucius Institute-USP.
They were joined by the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo.
Mr Qian said it was good to see that more and more young people in Fiji and other pacific island countries were studying Chinese.
