A Fijian-born man, who resides in Brisbane, Australia, has committed himself to looking after the needs and wants of a Lautoka family.

Ishaad Khan, originally of Valebasoga, Labasa has made a decision together with the assistance of his circle of friends to take care of the daily needs of a family-of-three at Naikabula, Lautoka.

Vishnu Baru, 58 and her two sons, Janendra Sami, 43 and Kamal Sami 39 have been without proper supply of food and water for the past three years.

Janendra, who was the sole bread winner of the family was previously employed at a security firm three years ago. He was unable to work again due to a health condition which forced him to stay home.

Along with this, his brother, Kamal, who is mentally and physically challenged, has been home since he was a 10-year-old after suffering from a health issue.

Ms Baru, a widow said she got her strength from God to be at home and look after her sons.

“It has been tough for the past three years,” said the emotional mother.

“Our home is also not in a good condition. I’m grateful for the help Ishaad and his team have done, it’s a blessing.”
