Roneel Ritesh Chand is now able to secure his family’s future thanks to the loan made available through the Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

Mr Chand is now the owner of a fully operational sweets cart in Rakiraki thanks to the Government’s COVID-19 Concessional Financial support package for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME).

He said despite having competition in this field, he was happy.

Every morning you would be able to see Mr Chand selling sweets and savouries door to door because he is a hawker vendor.

With the loan that he received, he was able to buy his cart which now saves him time and energy from walking around in the endless Rakiraki summer to make ends meet.

“I am grateful to this Government for allowing the opportunity to help me expand my business,” he said.

The Waimari, Ra, resident is a father of two children and breadwinner for his family. He also thanked his wife and mother for their endless support.

You can find Mr Chand at the Rakiraki Taxi Stand where he sells his sweets and savouries.
