Defending Vodafone Women’s Interdistrict Championship champions Ba along with Labasa, Suva and Rewa have qualified for tomorrow’s semifinals at the ANZ Stadium.

Ba topped Group B after they beat Labasa 5-2 yesterday to remain unbeaten while Suva drew with Rewa 1-1.

In the first semifinal on Sunday, hosts Suva take on Labasa at 11am while Ba face Rewa at 1pm.

Ba and Fijian striker Luisa Tamanitokula scored twice for Ba while Cema Nasau continued her goal scoring twice. Nasau has scored nine goals in two days to lead the Golden Boot Award race.

Kelera Likuculacula scored a goal for Ba while Labasa’s goals came from Shayal Sindhika and Kinisimere Suga.

Speaking to SUNsports Tamanitokula said the team would go through a recovery session in today’s rest day.

“Our focus right now is to get a good rest because we have been playing for three days,” she said.

“Good recovery will help us a lot. We are not going to rest easy because we will have to think about the semi-final and the final which is not going to be easy.”

Tamanitoakula said the coaching staff would review their game plan and focus on their weak areas.

“The game against Labasa was a tough one and some of these girls are feeling the heat already. That’s nothing new for us because back at home it’s twice as hot as here.”
