Let’s Go Local: First Melbourne Cup Extravaganza At Denarau Golf And Racquet Club A Sellout

The Denarau Golf and Racquet Club came alive yesterday as it hosted at least 100 invite-only guests who showed up for the Melbourne Cup Extravaganza.
The programme included live coverage of the Melbourne Cup Race, a betting station, best dressed prizes and a live DJ.
Guests turned out in the themed attire of a white affair.
They were also treated to a fashion show, sweepstakes and watched the live race that stops the nation of Australia.
Multi property vice president – Fiji and Samoa – Marriott International and General Manager – Sheraton and Westin Resorts, Fiji Neeraj Chadha said: “We all know the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is a good event to get our staff working especially afterfrom their long break.”
He noted this event also boosted the staff morale. He added that their properties Westin Fiji, Denarau Golf and Racquet Club and Sheraton had a vibrant calendar including events such as this one buffet and all access to pool and bowling events.
Mr Chadha said: “Melbourne Cup is a good opportunity. “We thought to showcase ourselves to the whole of Fiji about our fabulous food. It was a sell out, we had 100 guests.”

This was their first Melbourne Cup event hosted at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club and also highlighted the great venue location and food and beverage offering by the club and the local specials available at the Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa.
