Unplanned Power Outage Affects Power Supply – Vehicle Accident Causes Unplanned Power Outage in Naboro Area

There was an unplanned power outage at 1:50pm this afternoon, Thursday 5 th November, 2020 due to a vehicle colliding against an EFL power pole at Veisari, Lami.
This caused an unplanned power disruption to our valued customers who are provided power supply via the Naboro Feeder around the Wailekutu to Namelimeli area.
Teams were dispatched to attend to this fault which required that the EFL power pole be urgently replaced and to safely carry out the repair works, the Wailekutu to Deuba 33,000V Sub-Transmission line will need to be de-energized. The de-energization of the power line will cause a power disruption to our customers residing between Wailekutu to Matanipusi Hill.
EFL teams are currently arranging logistics to replace the damaged power pole and carry out associated repair works which is expected to be completed by tomorrow morning, Friday 6 th
November, 2020 following which power supply will be fully restored.
EFL requests drivers and machine operators to exercise caution while driving and maneuvering vehicles to avoid causing damages to EFL assets resulting in unplanned power outages.
EFL wishes to remind the public that EFL will take appropriate action to recover repair costs associated with damages to EFL assets, as well as report the same to relevant authorities (Police, Labour Department, etc.) for them to investigate and take appropriate action.
The EFL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers due to this unplanned power outage which was beyond our control.
