$10K Commission Payout A Blessing For Ex-Flight Attendant

Receiving a $10,000 commission payout has been a blessing for the former Fiji Airways flight attendant, Leba Niumataiwalu and her family.
The mother of four children now works as a sales consultant with Sunshine Coast Gated Community in Nadi.
Sunshine Coast Gated Community, trading as Sunshine Development Pt Limited was approved by Investment Fiji Limited on April 19, 2018.
Mrs Niumataiwalu is among the 14 Fiji Airways staff who joined the company after being let go earlier this year.
She joined the company in mid-October. She had closed her first commercial lot of three sales in which she received her commission from the company’s chief executive officer and owner of iConsult Pte Limited, Rupeni Fonmanu.
Originally from Matuku, Lau, the 35-year-old said the commission payout was a blessing to her family.
“I have done three sales already. Our commission is based on the sales we make,” she said.
“Receiving the $10,000 commission payout during this time was a blessing for me and my family. We were really excited for this opportunity that was presented for us from sunshine.”
Mrs Niumataiwalu said the skills gained from being cabin crew had enabled her to deal with her clients.
“I was approached by a former flight attendant a few weeks ago. I am interested in joining the company,” she added.
“I have never got involved in real estate investment, however the skills I acquired from the national airline – like meeting people and interacting with them have been very useful during my time with Sunshine.”
Meanwhile, another former airline staff member, Mike Fawcett, also a sales consultant, received his $10,000 commission after he closed his first commercial lot sale since joining the company in September.
