Suva will meet Naitasiri in the Skipper Cup Premiership final this Saturday.

This was after they defeated Namosi 24 – 16 in the semifinal at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Team manager Nemani Tuifagalele said: “Naitasiri will not be easy so we need to prepare well.

“We will go back to the drawing board and worked on what needs to be corrected and come back stronger next week.”

What happened:

Both teams started off strong. Suva dominated in scrums as Manasa Saulo, Sireli Ledua and Mateo Qolisese led the charge.

Suva hooker Ledua scored Suva’s first try which was converted by fullback Enele Malele as they led 7 -0, in the 22nd minute.

Namosi replied in the 26th minute by centre, Onisi Ratave. However, Alivereti Veitokani was unsuccessful with the conversion.

Veitokani added another six points to lead, 11 – 7, from a penalty and drop goal.

Malele booted a penalty just before halftime.

Halftime: Namosi 11 – 10 Suva.

Suva was awarded a penalty try in the 55th minute before flanker Taniela Sadrugu ran through the Namosi defence from 20metres to score.

Malele converted it to extend their lead, 24 -11.

Namosi substitute, Suli Qalikaono, scored another try for Namosi as Suva was down to 14 men when Azariah Immanuel was sin- binned.

Winger Keponi Paul was also yellow carded in the final minute as Suva ended the game with 13 men.
