Flying Fijians centre Semi Radradra is going to captain the side against France in their Autumn Nations Cup opener at 3:50am on Monday.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Flying Fijians head coach Vern Cotter said: “Semi is here and named captain.”

He said they are expecting veteran lock Leone Nakarawa to join camp.

“We’ve had some great training sessions and have been well looked after in Limoges and now in St Galmiers- the only distraction has been the COVID -19 testing and protocols.”

Nakarawa and hooker Mesulame Dolokoto have been undergoing rehab with their club Glasgow Warriors.

Cotter and his assistant coaches of Daryl Gibson, Glen Jackson, Richie Guy and Jason Ryan have been working with the players since they reported to camp on October 26.

For the France clash, Cotter says, they have been training in all aspects of the game.

“We have some experienced backs and some young forwards.”

He also indicated that the forwards know how hard it will be to play France and their set piece.

“The young locks have been impressing us with their work ethic and desire to learn from the older players and staff. The objective is to improve each day.”

The Flying Fijians last played France on November 24, 2018 at the Stade de France, Saint- Denis where they won 21-17. The Fijian trieswere scored by winger Josua Tuisova and Radradra.
