Third Vehicle Offloading In Suva In Two Weeks

Meridean Ace is the third vessel to be offloading vehicles at the Suva wharf this month; it arrives on Saturday.
According to the global Marine Traffic the vehicles carrier had departed from Kobe, Japan on October 31 and is currently sailing at 12.1 knots with Southeast direction heading to Suva, Fiji.
Reported estimated time of arrival is Saturday, November 14 at 2am.
The vehicles vessel is the third in more than two weeks to be offloading vehicles in Suva.
Gigantic Cosco Sheng Shi had came in the last week of last month with new vehicles.
Fiji Ports Terminal Limited (FPTL) chief executive officer, Hasthika Dela, said there have been a lot of cargo vessels discharging and loading at Suva and Lautoka since Monday.
On Monday, Mr Dela said there were two big cargo carrying ships Capitaine Dampier from New Zealand and Tropical Islander from Japan docked at the Suva port.
“Yes, it’s was a busy day since we have two container ships, delivering, and receiving of containers.
The vessels have left with more are coming this week,” Mr Dela said.
Mr Dela said Capitaine Dampier discharged 490 containers and then loaded on 211 containers.
Ro-ro container carrier Tropical Islander apart from offloading containers also discharged 97 vehicles at the Suva wharf. It then loaded on 26 containers before departing.
He confirmed that Tropical Islander had brought containers, vehicles and loose break bulk (packages).
Mr Dela confirmed that COVID-19 measurements were still in place.
He said next week’s schedule include five containers vessels offloading and loading in Suva and three doing the same at the Lautoka wharf.
