Nadi football reps Napolioni Qasevakatini and Avinesh Warran Suwamy will not play in the Vodafone Fiji FACT which kicks off at Churchill Park, Lautoka next week.

Nadi Football president Ashwan Singh  confirms striker Qasevakatini injured his knee during training last week.

And midfield general Suwamy remains in doubt after he has yet to fully recover from his injury.

“Qasevakatini is out after he injured his knee during training and we have a lot of strikers to replace him in the likes of Shivneel Pillay who was impressive against Suva last weekend,” he said.

“Avinesh is yet to fully recover 100 per cent and remains in doubt.”

Nadi is in Pool B alongside Suva, Lautoka and Navua.

Singh said they are on track as defending champions and will be out to restore lost pride after failing to finish in the top two of the Vodafone Premier League

“We’ve a week to get ourselves organised as the competition will be tough as we will play Lautoka first. We need to win to get three points before the second round kicks off in Labasa.

He added the players have also been told that they will need to earn their spot in the team.

“It all comes down to the discipline of the players during training and we are working together,” Singh added.

The Green Machine is the second most successful team in the Fiji FACT history having won the title five times from eight final appearances since 1993.

But Ba leads the tally with eight wins from 10 grand finals since tournament inception in 1991.
