It only took one stab wound to kill 14-year-old Jiya Jaanvi.  She was a Year 9 student of Labasa College.

The hit was precise. A “sharp object” was used. It pierced her heart, from under her left breast, a Police source close to the investigation said.

The killer attempted another hit. Young Jiya tried to defend herself. The scratches on her left arm indicated her struggle.

Four months after her brutal death, the “sharp object” has never been found.
