Lead Role For Roy

Roy Krishna has been named as one of the five captains of the ATK Mohun Bagan football team in the Indian Super League.
The Fijian national captain and Spanish midfielder Edu Garcia are the foreign players who will share the captaincy in the new season which starts this weekend.
The coach of ATK Mohun Bagan, Antonio Lopez Habas, announced five players will be given the captain’s armband in rotation starting with opening game against Kerala Blasters on Saturday.
Of the five, four are members of the team that picked up the title last season with ATK.
Local players, Pritam Kotal and Arindam Bhattacharya, will also share the armband while the seasoned Sandesh Jhingan is the only newcomer in the list.
The Spanish coach insisted that he named five captains because he does not want to recognise anyone as a star in a team game. He added that experience and performance were key parameters in determining the skippers.
ATK-Mohun Bagan managed to retain the core group of foreign players from ATK for the seventh season of the Indian Super League
Krishna was the ISL’s joint top scorer last season with 15 goals and played an instrumental role in ATK’s title-winning campaign.
Krishna has dug ATK out of the grave on multiple occasions as it made its way to the final.
Apart from being the top-scorer, Krishna was also the club’s top assist maker, underlining his importance as a goal provider.
The Fijian was extraordinary with his finishing and displayed great pace and footwork. His burly physique allowed him to power his way past defenders and was an absolute delight to watch.
