Let’s Go Local: Jokhan Tells – Cruising with Captain Cook
Go on a cruise on Captain Cook Cruises Fiji’s MV Reef Endeavour

Another influential face who knows a lot about the best spots sellable in Fiji.

Owner and managing director of one of the biggest real estate agents is Reginald Jokhan.

He owns Jokhan Realtors, was briefly involved in politics and heavily involved in martial arts.

Mr Jokhan said: “Fiji has so many beautiful places.

“Yet we tend to always look abroad.

There is an abundance of freshness and beauty that we don’t get in the mainland.

“We seem to take it for granted. There are yet so many places to enjoy fresh food, fresh air but rather we choose to go abroad and eat canned, frozen and processed food.”

What’s One Place You’d Take Every Visitor To Fiji And Why?
“Cruises. Local cruises on Captain Cook Cruises. We in Fiji have so many places we haven’t seen.

“We are yet to explore.”

“ This is why I take up time to explore these new places.”

“These outer islands are untouched.”

“It also boosts our economy.”

What’s Your Secret Backyard Favourite Spot?
“Though I am busy with work I have never come to a point where I need a backyard spot.”

“Because of my martial arts training I have learnt it is the power of the mind.”

“My secret haven is my mindset.”

What’s Your Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
My wife’s kitchen (said with a laugh, implying though it was a tricky question to answer it was the truth).

What’s One Fiji Spot On The Top Of Your Bucket List?
Wakaya. Though I’ve been there already I would love to see more of the place.

I’d like the opportunity to see more of the red deers they are famous for.

“I’d also love to spend more time in our outer islands, like the Lau Groups where it hasn’t been exploited.”

“I’d love to spend a month.”

He added how he has noticed more tourism activity mostly among the local community.

“It should always be made that way,” he said.

“Locals should be given an opportunity and now that we have it, grab it and go explore.”
