Viliame Gavoka will lead the Social Democratic Liberal Party into the 2022 General Elections.
He was selected by the SODELPA Management Board at a meeting at the Southern Cross hotel in Suva.
Mr Gavoka will be assisted by new Deputy Party Leader, Suva lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo.
Minutes after the announcement, Sitiveni Rabuka posted on his Facebook page:

Thank you all for your confidence.
I answered the call, I tried, now this.
“The Party Management Board has decided, now back to the other board – the planning board!
Vinaka vakalevu to the 77,040 who voted for me.”
