Serritslev Commends Progress

Vodafone national football coach Flemming Serritslev applauded the standard of football in the country.
Since replacing Frenchman Christophe Gamel in February, he has been impressed with the improved Fiji FA sanctioned tournaments so far.
He indicated that it has improved from when he took over.
Analysing the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament in Labasa, he said the weather was not in their favour.
“The weather had a huge impact on the quality of play.
“We can’t blame the players if their combinations were not so good because it was impossible,”he said.
“From the physical point of view, they tried to do their best to what we have seen in the match.
“I’m sure we will see a lot of good games on Saturday and Sunday.”
He was happy with teams despite the ground condition.
“For Nadi they deserved to win, they were on fire up until the last minute,”he said.
“Teams need to change the way they play to suit the conditions.
“Normally Suva, Labasa play fast football on the ground, but now they have to change their playing style.”
The next camp for the national squad is scheduled for next month.
“We have seen very good progress from the championships and in the competition we have had.
“I’m really looking forward that we can have matches with the national team. It’s frustrating not being able to bring them together for a match,”he said.
