Six key players of the Suva football team are in doubt of today’s Vodafone Fiji FACT semifinal clash against Labasa at Subrail Park.

Suva coach Babs Khan said yesterday the players Christopher Wasasala, Simione Nabenu, Kalisito Veikoka, Laisaeni Raura, Kelvin Naidu and Benimino Mateinaqara are injured.

“To me the players are basically out due to their injuries,” Khan said.

He said the young players have stepped up to the task ahead.

“The boys played well against Lautoka despite the loss but still they have kept our hopes alive.

“Labasa are always hard to beat on their home ground knowing how well they played. This is despite losing to Rewa 4-0 in their first game. Playing at their home ground is like roaring inside the lion’s mouth.”

Khan said in a tournament it is about having numbers in the squad but although all their players are in, they still we have 19 boys who can step-up and perform on the today.

“It shows the character in the boys and the team that manage the semifinal well, will win. In case if we lose today please don’t criticise us because only one can win the title,” Khan said.
