2020 Vodafone FACT Semi Finals, Nadi vs Rewa on muddy Subrail Park ground.

No decision has been made on whether to restart the Vodafone Fiji FACT semifinal clash between Nadi and Rewa.

The match was called off on Saturday because of poor ground conditions at Subrail Park, Labasa.

Defending champions Nadi were leading 1-0 in the first half before the Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohmamed Yusuf called off the match indicating that the second half was to be played yesterday.

However, this did not eventuate as the ground conditions did not improve with the semi-finals being moved to this weekend.

What Rewa says Rewa Football Association president, Nazeel Buksh, said yesterday they had written to Fiji FA stating their reasons for a restart.

“We wrote to them in regards to the game. In the past years the same things have happened, and the game restarted again for the full 90 minutes,’’ he said.

“We want them to stick to the precedence events.”

“It happened in 2007, 2010 and 2012, the game started all over again, so we are writing on these grounds.”

“There is no rule in FIFA or Oceania Football Confederation that the games will only resume from when it stopped,’’ Buksh added.

When approached Nadi FA president Ashwant Singh said they were ready to beat Rewa on Saturday.

“Hopefully, Fiji Football Association continue the game from where it stopped and give the first half score line which was 1-0,” he said.

The Nadi football team left Labasa last night but Singh assured that they’ll return on Friday for the semifinals if it played again at Subrail Park.

What Nadi says Nadi captain Sakaraia Naisua said they would have come out victorious if the game had continued.

However, Fiji FA president, Rajesh Patel, said that they would today confirm other details about the game rules and regulations.

“We have postponed the semifinals and finals on Saturday and Sunday respectively,’’ Patel said.

“All regulations and confirmationabout how the games will be played will be announced later.”
