Ms Masih enjoys simple life pleasures and her local travels.
1.What’s One Place You’d Take Every Visitor To In Fiji And Why?
The Suva Municpal market on a Saturday morning, the array of fresh seafood, Swafruit and vegetables sold by local vendors makes this a truly Fijian experience.
The hive of activity at the market which includes the warm “Yadra” (Hello) and “Vinaka na volivoli” (Thank you for buying vegetables) from vendors to finding the freshest local produce is the best way to start the weekend in Suva.
2.What’s your secret backyard favourite spot?
My Bubu’s (Nanny) home in Naluwai, Naitasiri.
Enjoying the one-hour scenic drive along the Sawani road crossing open country and villages to reach Naluwai Village.
People can spend the day enjoying the mountainous views, smelling the fresh Naitsiri air, catch-up with family members and also eating a hearty home cooked meal.
This includes the famous Naitasiri food “rourou qisi”, people can go for a dip in the creek, play a game of rugby for the children before heading back to Suva.
It is the best way to enjoy the warm Fijian hospitality at its best.
3. What’s Your Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
Tea Totoka at Yatu Lau arcade.
The place has the freshest egg in bun and hot cuppa tea served old style among the small stalls located inside the arcade and people coming and going.
This is life simple pleasures.
4. What’s One Fiji Spot On The Top Of Your Bucket List?
It has to be Taveuni.
I have heard about the amazing waterfalls and offerings. I cannot wait to explore the beautiful island soon.
