Dux Siddiqa Makes Parents Proud, Ready For Y13 Final Exams

Aspiring doctor Siddiqa Ali is a step closer to achieving her dream of studying medicine.
The National Topper for the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination of Nasinu Muslim College was yesterday awarded the school’s dux prize.
She had scored 393 out of 400 in last year’s external examination.
The 19-year-old headgirl and a Year 13 pure science student had set her mind to earn the dux award four years ago.
And that she did after investing time in her studies.
Siddiqa said she admired the role of doctors whose role is to help people and also save lives.
“Becoming a doctor is a blessed job since they are there to help their patients and ease their pain by giving them a new life,” she said.
She thanked her teacher and parents for their support in her academic achievement.
Siddiqa also scooped awards in Mathematics, English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry subjects as well as the Best Science student, Leadership Award and First Prize Award.
Siddiqa said she was excited to sit for her Year 13 External Examination and would give it her best.
Her mother, Shabnum Ali, the principal of Ahmadiyya Muslim College said Siddiqa was always a consistent worker and punctual.
“She knows what to do very well. She is not only good in academics, but she is also a great artist and loves to paint,” she said.
Siddiqa’s father, Shamsher Ali said she had always made him proud in all that she does.
“We wish her all the best for her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) studies and may she achieve her goals as an aspiring doctor,” he said. Edited by Caroline Ratucadra
