The last Pacific Energy quarter mile drag race on Sunday did not go as expected because there was less cars that took part in the event.

There were only 22 cars and we have always had 40 or 45 cars in previous drag races.

We found out that majority of the cars had broken down. Nevertheless, they have assured me that they will be ready by the December 13 which will be the date of the next Pacific Energy quarter mile drag race.

In the last race, Zubed Ali has the fastest time of 11.98 and not only that he beat his own personal record.

He had worked really hard throughout the season and had shown some very impressive runs.

Another of our regular, Abhishek Nath who had the second fastest time of the day with the time of 13.31seconds.

He has more potential and should be hitting the 12 seconds club soon.

Shoeb Ali also beat his own personal time of 13.88 seconds.

He had the third fastest time of the day.

With this timing, the competition in Toyota Starlet with 4efte engines is getting exciting. The fastest time in the 4efte is held by Zaran Khan with a time of 13.57

With the seconds class the drag wars went on with success.

There were four winners for the drag war.

Under the 13-14.5 seconds class: Abhishek Nath won for the category.

In the 15- 15.5 seconds class, Mohd zohel Khan won.

In the 16-16.5 class Sahil Prasad won and 17 seconds and over Jordan Kumar won the category.

Looking at the success of the drag wars, we have decided that the next drag wars will be one whole day event.

This will be called “Street King on Tracks”.

This would be a good day for beginners and for people who like to race side by side.

As I mentioned earlier, the Pacific Energy quarter mile drag race will be next week and this will be the last race for the season.

Advice

As we will all know that speeding is the major cause of accidents in Fiji so please follow speed limits.

Sometimes drivers try to avoid potholes and they lose control of their vehicles and cause accidents.

Please follow road rules especially in this rainy season.
