Nadi football rep Mosese Nauci wants to play against Rewa in the second semi-final of the Vodafone Fiji FACT at Subrail Park, Labasa today.

And the exclusion of Josua Tawake from the team should allow Nauci to be one of the strikers. The two teams will play the second half after their game was postponed last week due to deteriorating condition of Subrail Park.  Nadi led 1-0 at halftime.

Nauci was part of the side that defeated Lautoka 1-0 during the opening round of the Fiji FACT at the Churchill Park, Lautoka last month.

The 19-year-old scooped the Sportsman of the Year award during the Sabeto College annual prizegiving day in Nadi on Thursday.

“This is icing on the cake for my involvement in sports,” he said.

“This has boosted my morale. As a Nadi rep I will do my best for the district to retain the title once again. I am keeping my fingers crossed to be in the First X1. The team wants to retain the Fiji FACT title.”

The Year 12 student will be back in school next Tuesday to sit for the English paper in the Fiji Certificate Examinations 2020.

The Sabeto native is the nephew of former Nadi left-back Tela Qoro.

Nauci has been part of the Nadi team from the age group competitions. He made his debut for the senior team in the 2-1 loss to Rewa in the Vodafone Premier League this year.

He has been part of the all grades team for Nadi and is a member of the Fiji Under- 19.

Meanwhile, Nadi Women U16 football rep Kelly Volo Sharma scooped the Sportswoman of the Year.

The 15-year-old plays as defender and made her debut in the Vodafone U18 Women League this season.

“It’s a good feeling to be given this award. I am just motivated to be in football like my brother Kelvin Sharma who is part of the Nadi football team,” she said.
