Jack’s of Fiji has extended its business  in Fiji following the opening of their new shop in Navua yesterday.

Chief executive officer, Bhavin Khatri, yesterday said they had invested $250,000 on the setup of the new shop including stock.

Mr Khatri said a team of 10 people would be employed in this outlet.

“We are a fashion brand present in all major towns and cities across Fiji and we are not going to let Navua out of our list,” Mr Khatri said.

“As the opportunity arises, we are expanding our footprint to other areas of the country where we are not currently operating,” he said.

Jack’s of Fiji strives to be a leader in the retail industry in Fiji,

Navua town and its surrounding areas including Pacific Harbour have approximately a total population of 8000 people.

“Navua residents currently travel to Suva for their shopping requirements. Our store will make it very convenient for them as they now have a choice to shop in their home-town.

“This saves them time and money.

“We have done significant investment in the renovation of the building including the fixtures and furniture of the store to match our brand and merchandising standards and guidelines.”

The target market he said includes all Navua and Pacific Harbour residents plus those from the provinces of Namosi, Serua and Rewa.

“As a business we do not want to heavily depend on tourism, as tourism is one industry heavily impacted by extreme events such as natural disasters, political coups and the current COVID-19.

“Our business diversification strategy is helping us align to be a leader in the retail industry in Fiji, in the local market, with the heavy reliance on the tourism industry minimised.

Jack’s of Fiji operates a total of 50 retail stores of which 13 are major downtown stores. Major downtown stores are located at Nadi, Port Denarau, Sigatoka, Suva, MHCC Shopping Complex (Suva),  Damodar City Centre (Raiwai), Rups Mall, (Nakasi), Nausori, Lautoka, Ba, Labasa and Savusavu.

“This year has been a challenging time for everyone, despite that we will continue looking for new opportunities as things progress.”

Mr Khatri said they were excited and impressed with the customers’ turnout at the new shop opening yesterday.

“Apart from customers browsing through our items and checking out what we have they have been buying. We are as excited as them.”

Opening hours are from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

The Jack’s of Fiji shop is located on the main street of Navua town opposite the Hot Bread Kitchen.
