In the true spirit of serving the communities, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay will donate shoe vouchers to Year One students from three neighboring schools next year.

While addressing guests during the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony past Saturday, General Manager, Silvano Dressino stressed 2020 has brought out the resilience in the Fijian people.

“This year is even more special as we celebrate a Fijian Christmas at Momi Bay, take on a sustainability approach with our lights around the resort,” he says.

“And despite a year full of challenges we undertake a very special resort project, which is close to my wife Katrin, and my heart – our Christmas Tree Ornament Competition.

“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of joy and love to those that need it the most.

“Our Christmas Tree Ornament Competition involves our schools around the Momi Bay Area that we actively support with our various projects – including Solia Lesu.

“We invited Year One students from the three schools to make sustainable ornaments that are now placed on our trees.

“In the true spirit of serving the communities we operate in, the resort will donate shoe vouchers to students starting Year One in 2021 at Ratu Nemani Primary School, SavusavuPrimary and Namata Primary School.

“I must also commend the current Year One students from these three schools for their spirit of giving and thinking of the future students for their respective schools.”

“My team and I are proud to inform you we have remained open and had guests stay at the resort every single day since April.

“I am even more proud to share with you that we are proud winners of the Fiji Property of the Year Award at the recent HM awards in Sydney, Australia.

“A true reflection of great teamwork and our strong commitment to deliver memorable experiences for our guests.

“On behalf of Marriott International and my team here at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, my family and I, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with hope, prosperity and success.”
