Eseta Tells Challenges Of Getting To School
Crossing the river on foot or by bilibili daily and then walking about half a kilometre to catch a ride to school has not been in vain for Eseta Matai Vanua.
The 19-year-old became dux of Ahmadiyya Muslim College in Voloca, Dreketi.
“You cannot imagine how hard I worked to get this dux award,” Eseta said.
“I am not living a luxury life and neither a life where a child gets to receive whatever he or she wants.
“I am so much blessed by God that I have wonderful parents, siblings and teachers who always support me.”
The only daughter of five siblings, her parents farm has yaqona, dalo and vegetables.
The aspiring doctor said where there is a will, there is a way.
“Come sun or rain, if you are willing to work hard to achieve your aim, nothing can stop you.”
