The Royal Fiji Military Forces women netball and volleyball teams received new uniforms yesterday.

The Australian Defence Force defence attaché to Fiji Colonel Robert Haertsch handed the uniforms for the FMF Sukuna Bowl clash against Fiji Police Force.

Receiving the uniforms, Colonel Litea Seruiratu, thanked Col Haertsch for their contribution towards RFMF for the FMF Rise Fiji Rise Sukuna Bowl.

“On behalf of the government and RFMF we thank you for your assistance,” she said.

“Not only these women are going to represent RFMF, they will represent Australian Defence Force as well.”

Meanwhile, RFMF netball captain Seruwaia Kovakova, said they will be out to end the Police winning streak.

RFMF last won the netball comp in 2017.

And the Police team has been defending it for the past three years.

The Laselase, Nasigatoka, Nadroga, native has been playing for the RFMF team for the past five years.

“We have been preparing well and it will all come down to the team that does their best on Friday,” she said.

“We have no national reps compared to our sisters in the Police Force. We do not have experienced players but we will give it our all.”

The Filomena Korovulavula-coached side played in the quarter-final of the Suva Netball Association club games.

“We usually do our strengthening and conditioning in the morning with the volleyball team and our separate court work in the afternoon.”

The Police netball team is laced with national reps like Alisi Naqiri, Episake Kahatoka, Alisi Galo and Lydia Panapasa.
