Asha Kumar has two cases of interest:

1. he Director of Public Prosecutions has filed a nolle prosequi to discontinue proceedings against a Police officer who was alleged to have interfered with the witness in the alleged Naqia Bridge incident. Five suspended Police Officers, Sevanaia Narogi, Kameli Tukana, Mafoa Korosaya, Inoke Nagata and Jokaveti Rabuku appeared before Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza today. The five suspended Police officers appeared for their alleged involvement in the Naqia assault case on April 14, 2020, whereby four of the accused persons are alleged to have assaulted and threw 32-year-old Inoke Lagicere off Naqia Bridge in Naitasiri.

2. Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili has ruled that former Fijian Ambassador to the United States of America and diplomat, Solo Naivakarurubalavu Mara, has a case to answer. Mara appeared before the Chief Magistrate charged with count each of disobedience of lawful order and of giving false or misleading information by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
