Hard Work Pays Off For Andhra College Dux
Hard work and determination paid off for Alfaz Rasheed Mohammed of Sigatoka Andhra Sangam College.
He was given the dux and the Student of the Year Awards last Friday.
He also received trophies and medals for being the top Arts Student of the year and highest scorer in Maths, English, Economic, Computer and Accounting.
He was also the top scorer in the Year 13 annual examination with the total of 362 out of 400.
Youngest of four siblings, the 18-year-old said it was through hard work and determination that he excelled academically.
“I have worked hard right from the beginning of school. My sisters have been my biggest motivation,” he said.
“COVID-19 has been the biggest challenge as we couldn’t get much time in school, but where there is a will there is a way.”
He dedicated his success to his family members, especially his loving parents. He hopes to further his studies at the University of the South Pacific doing a major in accounting and Information System.
