Ashna follow two cases of public interest:
1. Pastor Ravinesh Chand yesterday has denied all allegations and told the court that the complainant lied about the alleged rape incidents. Chand is charged with three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar today.
For the offence of sexual assault, it is alleged that Chand on March 21, 2019, at Nausori, unlawfully and indecently assaulted the complainant by kissing her and fondling with her breast.
For the offences of rape, it is alleged that Chand on March 21, 2019, at Nausori, had carnal knowledge with the complainant without the consent of the complainant.
2. A 35-year-old farmer accused of murder of a 21-year-old man in Bau in February this year has been told to remain on good behaviour while on bail. Setareki Ratatagia appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar today at the High Court in Suva for his bail hearing. Ratatagia is charged with one count of murder.
